Co|Lab is a space dedicated to inspiring innovation, bringing transformative ideas to life, and evoking positive change in the built world. Co|Lab serves as HITT Contracting’s designated space for the discovery, research, and testing of new ideas. It’s where designers, engineers, and builders can take intentional risks. It’s where radical ideas become practical solutions. It’s where infinite possibilities for improvement come to life. It’s where, collectively, we find better ways to build.

“Construction shapes the world we live in, driving economic growth, producing jobs, and creating the built environment around us. As building professionals, we must take responsibility for innovating and improving our industry.”

HITT, Chief Executive Officer

Our Why

Currently, our industry faces a multitude of challenges, including rising construction costs, lack of skilled labor, environmental impact, and concerns over health and human safety. Yet less than 1% of industry revenue is invested in R&D. To address these issues, HITT Contracting created Co|Lab. Here, we strive to deliver better buildings and experiences for our clients, our partners, our team members, and our world.

How We Drive Change

HITT’s Research & Development team is focused on finding new methods, materials, technology, and performance to improve the built environment. Utilizing Co|Lab, our designated hub for research and testing, we’re collaborating with our industry partners to push boundaries, challenge assumptions, and change minds as we strive to set new industry standards.
